A new venue for Danish culture

Designed by the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) architectural company, BLOX stands out as a transparent glass landmark in central Copenhagen. The building is more than an architectural statement. It is a cultural hub and an active part of the city’s urban life.

BLOX creates new connections across the harbour with bridges that link neighbourhoods and open new routes for cyclists and pedestrians. The complex houses the Danish Architecture Centre and BLOXHUB, an interdisciplinary environment focused on sustainable development.

The area also features outdoor spaces, playgrounds, cafés and flexible rooms for work, exhibitions and research. BLOX EATS, operated by renowned restaurateur Meyer, offers casual food inspired by world cuisines.

Under the BLOX

In close cooperation with Airteam, one of Denmark’s leading ventilation specialists, NOVENCO Building & Industry supplied the equipment for the fully automated underground car park with 350 spaces.

Drivers deliver their vehicles at street level in one of six automated lifts, whereafter vehicles are stored and later retrieved in about two minutes. The solution saves space as it removes the need for traditional ramps and creates a safe and unique user experience.

Equipment delivery

To ensure efficient and reliable ventilation in the automated car park, NOVENCO Building & Industry delivered four reversible ARO-380 jet fans for the entrance area to serve all six lifts. The jet fans were powder-coated red which combined with black walls and a dark grey floor, underlines and highlights the design of the facility with a modern and industrial look.

For stable air exhaust across the building, NOVENCO also supplied 21 NovAx ACN axial flow fans in various sizes.
