Retrofit to the latest AHU technology

The DS Group recently completed a major retrofit of the air handling units (AHUs) at its Noida headquarters. The project replaced 40 outdated centrifugal fans with highly efficient, state-of-the-art NOVENCO ZerAx axial fans. This initiative supports the company’s Sustainable Development journey, aligning commercial, environmental and social goals.

The first project phase introduced a proof of concept by replacing one centrifugal fan with a ZerAx fan. AIR TECHNO INDIA PVT. LTD., an authorised NOVENCO channel partner, measured AHU performance before and after the retrofit. For the same airflow, the ZerAx fan reduced energy consumption by 55%.

The outstanding results once again confirm the ZerAx fans' industry-leading efficiency and their strong contribution to sustainable building certifications.

The DS Group Headquarters (DSHQ), a LEED Platinum certified green building, remains the global leader among all LEED v4 O&M existing buildings with the highest number of credits. Our goal is to become a Zero Carbon facility by the end of 2023. In this journey, we evaluated the ZerAx axial fan technology, which offers clear advantages over conventional centrifugal blowers, including high energy savings, a shorter ROI period and improved system efficiency. It also supports carbon-emission reduction and is certified by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as a green product. Our pilot installation confirmed the projected energy savings, and we are pleased to report a reduction of more than 55% in our AHU systems after the first phase. We are fully satisfied and plan to proceed with the second phase across our other offices.
