Today’s high energy costs and rising environmental awareness accelerate the demand for modern, efficient solutions. The environmentally friendly NOVENCO ZerAx® fan is created through in-depth engineering and studies of computational fluid dynamics. It is the latest response to the growing need for energy-saving HVAC technologies.
Existing AHUs upgraded with ZerAx solutions gain significant efficiency and often outperform comparable systems. This is driven by unmatched total system efficiencies of up to 85%. The concept boosts HVAC performance through NOVENCO ZerAx® high-efficiency axial fans, IE4 and IE5 permanent magnet motors, and intelligent frequency drives.
Energy savings with ZerAx® solutions
In optimal configurations, motor and frequency-drive efficiencies reach above 95%. Combined with the ZerAx fan efficiency of up to 92%, the system achieves an impressive total efficiency of up to 85%. This is 20–25 percentage points higher than alternatives such as direct-driven centrifugal plug fans with EC motors. It is currently the highest achievable AHU system efficiency on the market.
The high efficiency of ZerAx fans enables AHU designs up to 30% shorter and 30% lighter without compromising performance. The fans are supplied as complete plug-and-play units for fast installation. Noise levels are significantly lower than other fan types, and the 20+ year fan lifetime supports long-term sustainability and low maintenance costs.
Fans in HVAC systems can represent up to 60% of total energy consumption. NOVENCO’s plug-and-play solutions enable quick retrofits without replacing entire AHUs. Upgrading with ZerAx® fans drastically reduces energy use and maintenance needs while increasing overall system efficiency. Retrofit work is often completed in under 10 hours.
Below are the four steps from identifying an upgrade candidate to completing a fully optimised AHU system with NOVENCO ZerAx®.
The site study analyses the existing HVAC installation to clarify system needs. Site studies can be acquired with NOVENCO technicians, and provides an estimated overview of achievable benefits, including potential savings and ROI.
Findings from the site study are used to prepare a detailed estimation. This includes potential energy savings, as well as inputs for carbon-footprint reductions and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) improvements. Estimates also provide an initial indication of the NOVENCO ZerAx® solution cost.
Upon approval, detailed engineering, cost indication and planning of entire retrofit project is initiated.
Site upgrades are usually completed in multiple stages with 3rd party ventilation contractors, and include
