Car parks

Worldwide demand for parking facilities continues to grow, especially in major cities. As a result, more car parks are being built both above and below ground. With decades of experience supplying fans for road tunnels, NOVENCO has developed strong expertise in ventilation design in close cooperation with authorities.

Pioneering jet-fan ventilation

In the early 1990s, Dutch consultant J. van Toorenburg BV faced a unique project in The Hague: a car park designed much like a traffic tunnel. As there was no space for ductwork, their solution was to use small jet fans. NOVENCO, already a supplier of larger jet fans for road tunnels, was asked to develop compact versions for this project.

This became the starting point for a true industry breakthrough. NOVENCO has since pioneered and set new standards for ductless car park ventilation systems with jet fans. Our thrust-ventilation systems for underground car parks, enclosed parking facilities and delivery bays remain core technologies in our portfolio.

From the outset, our compact car park jet fans reshaped the market. They deliver optimal ventilation, remove toxic exhaust gases, and ensure effective smoke extraction during a fire.

Efficient ventilation without ductwork

Enclosed car parks require mechanical ventilation to keep hazardous gases, such as carbon monoxide (CO), at safe levels. Jet-fan systems eliminate the need for bulky ductwork in car parks. Strategically placed, the compact jet fans use induction to ventilate large areas. Ductless operation significantly reduces fan pressure requirements for both supply and exhaust, guaranteeing  high efficiency in any car park layout.

Key advantages of jet-fan ventilation

  • Space saving: Compact jet fans replace complex ductwork and free up valuable space.
  • Flexible installation: Fans can be positioned freely and coordinated with other technical installations.
  • Optimal ventilation: Effective air mixing prevents local peaks of toxic gases.
  • No dead zones: Jet fans can be installed in areas with limited air movement to avoid stagnant pockets.
  • Energy efficient: Significant energy savings compared with ducted systems.
  • Cost efficient: Easy repositioning during design and installation reduces project costs.
  • Dual purpose: Suitable for daily ventilation and smoke control during a fire.

Smoke control you can rely on

Smoke control systems can be engineered to keep escape routes and access paths clear, enabling fire-fighters to reach the fire quickly and safely.

A smart, sustainable 2-in-1 solution

Our car park systems are highly efficient and use minimal energy across all operating modes. They help protect people, assets, and the environment—all in one integrated solution.
